Calshot, a one-mile
long shingle bank located on the southern end of Southampton
Water is one of the most popular venues for Windsurfing in
the region. During the summer the south westerly's are funnelled
down the Solent between the mainland and the Isle of Wight, combined
with the sea breeze generated from both the island and the mainland
can lead to some very windy afternoons.
The windsurfing shop shown in the picture, Solent
Sailboards is open daily throughout the year. |
