The Open Air Sea
Water Baths in Lymington is probably
the largest along the south coast and date back to the 1780s
when a Mrs Beeston took
over the baths following her husband’s death.
The baths gained in popularity with customers coming from all over England to
bathe in the health strengthening waters and mud. In 1833 the Baths were improved
with the larger building seen today.
Lymington and Pennington Town Council now own the baths. |
