Avon
Beach is the main beach for Christchurch. The beach
is mostly sandy with some stones and has views of
the Needles and Isle of Wight in the distance.
Local info: there
is a cafe, kiosks, shop and beach hire (including
canoes). More facilities are availble at Mudeford
Quay (a short walk away) including a pub, cafe,
a fish stall (were you can also buy a crab line
and bait) and boat trips.
Lifeguard cover from
July to September.
The beach area next to the car park is designated
for water sports.

parks next to the beach: Avon Beach car park 100
spaces Postcode BH23 4AN and Avon Run Road car park
230 spaces (3 for disabled)
Postcode BH23 4DU
Bus: The number X1 & X2 Wilts&Dorset from
Lymington to Bournemouth Square stops near to the
beach (generally every half hour in the summer).
