Mudeford
Sandbank is a sandy beach adjoining Hengistbury Head
with picturesque views of Christchurch
Harbour.
Local info: The
beach is well know for its 346 beach huts. Unlike the
normal beach hut, the Mudeford ones have residential
status and the owners can stay overnight from February to
November. They’re also probably the most expensive
fetching prices of over £100,000.
The beach can only be reached by foot, bicycle,
landtrain from Hengistbury Head car park or by ferry
from Mudeford Quay or Christchurch Quay during summer
months.
Mudeford Ferry:
- Mudeford Quay to Mudeford Sandbank, Easter until
the end of October, daily 10am-5pm. Also operates
on winter weekends in good weather.
Adult single fare - £1.20 (bicycles also £1.20)

Vintage Ferry Service:
- Mudeford Sandbank to Christchurch and Tuckton,
Easter until the end of October, daily 10am-5pm.
Frequency of service can vary from every hour and
a half to half hourly.
