Shore Road Beach is a wide sandy beach with a gradual slope into the sea, it is a Blue Flag beach.  

Local info: Summer Breeze on the Beach takes place at Shore Road beach every Thursday in August from 7pm and includes live music, beach sports, BBQ's and family fun activities. Each week the event finale is a spectacular fireworks display over the water at 10 pm.

There are several water sports hire shops on the peninsula.

There is a beach office and Lifeguard cover from May through to September. 

Beach wheelchairs are available along Pooles beaches free of charge, 24 hours notice must be given to the beach office.

Bus: The number 50 Wilts&Dorset from Bournemouth Station to Swanage stops near to the beach (generally every half hour in the summer).
