Solent
Beach, once called Hengistbury Beach is a mixture
of sand and stones with the backdrop of 30 metre
high Hengistbury Head. This beach has the advantage
of being the quietest of the Bournemouth beaches,
there are no facilities on the beach (the nearest
are in the Hengistbury Head car park), no crowds
just beach and sand dunes.
Local info: the
cafe, toilets and a land train to Mudeford Sandbank
are in the nearby Hengistbury Head car park.
Parking: There are 2
car parks next to the beach: Hengistbury Head holds
704 cars, 5 for disabled use (BH6 4EN). Solent Beach holds
581 cars (Postcode BH6 4DX).
