Swanage
Central is a Blue Flag Beach with gently sloping
sands and safe sheltered swimming. The Victorian
town centre is next to the beach and offers a range
of restaurants as well as a theatre and cinema.
Local info: items for hire include
- motor boats, pedaloes, canoes, wind breaks,
deckchairs and sun loungers.
The Victorian Pier was built
in 1896 to accommodate the paddle steamers, it
is also known as one of the best diving areas on
the south of coast and a popular place for anglers.
Parking: There is a car park
in Horsecliffe Road above the beach. map
Bus: The number 50 Wilts&Dorset from
Bournemouth Station to Swanage (generally every half
hour in the summer).
