Boscombe beach regeneration
Bournemouth’s beaches are now the widest they have been for 60 years, in total, 1.5 million cubic metres of beach material has been dredged from Poole Harbour and off the Isle of Wight and added to the Bournemouth beaches. The project has been fully funded by the Department for Environment.

Cycling on the Promenade
The restriction to cycling on the promenade now only applies for July and August 2008 and between 10.00am and 6.00pm.
Dogs
From 1 May to 30 September dogs must be kept on a lead when on the promenade.
From 1 May to 30 September dogs are banned on the beach except for designated areas (an area between Fishermans's walk and Southbourne).
