Southbourne
West Beach
The
beaches along the seven-mile
Bournemouth coastline
have recently been replenished with sand dredged from the
sea (the cliffs are separated
by a promenade and the beaches are not naturally replenished
by erosion).
During the dredging operation, a wreck was
found and the site has now been protected. There is the
possibility
that some material of archaeological importance may have been
pumped onto the beach. If you find anything of interest please
contact the council.
