Church Timeline
1688 From this date the Lymington
Baptists were able to start a church openly and met in a house
in Captain's Row (Prior to this, Baptist Christians were persecuted
and had to meet secretly in each others houses).
1769 The first church was built on the current site in New Street.
1834 The church building was demolished, and a much larger church
was built on the same site.
1866 A new 'classical' front was added to the church building.
1976 The church car park came into use next to the church (this
was once a graveyard but was closed in 1859).
2010 The church gets a make-over, painted outside and the inside
improved and modernised.
