Lymington Community Centre is now licensed
as a venue for marriages and civil partnerships
Seven rooms at the Community Centre have been
approved, accommodating from 16 to 180 persons depending on the room
chosen.
Lymington lost its Registrar's Office some years ago and until now
persons not wanting a Church wedding or to buy into one of the local
hotel wedding and reception packages had to travel to the Registrar's
office in Ringwood. The Centre is now able to offer an alternative
venue without any requirement to also book a reception.
For a wedding or civil partnership ceremony to take place, arrangements
have to be made for the attendance of a Superintendent Registrar
and a Registrar to conduct the proceedings.
Persons wishing to book a ceremony should contact the Centre (01590
672337) to check the availability of a suitable room. They must also
contact the Superintendent Registrar (01425 470150) at least 2 months
prior to their proposed date so as to be able to complete legal formalities
and other arrangements in plenty of time. |
