Update
14-April-2008
Despite a superb performance
The Fazers came runners up in the 'Live & Unsigned'
regional final.
The winners were called 'The Daze'. They took 200 supporters
along with them (compared to our 50) - so it was no
contest really. In some regional finals the runners-up
go through to the
National Final, but not at the Southampton one unfortunately.
The band is not too disappointed & thoroughly enjoyed
the experience. They would have loved to have made
it to the Final - purely to play in front of such a
large audience, & they
were a little disappointed that the acts were not chosen
purely on talent, but on number of tickets sold.
The Fazers are currently competing in The Dorset Unsigned
Music Awards - For the chance to win a slot at the
Larmer Tree Festival. You can vote for The Fazers to
win at www.devils-music.co.uk

Sean, John & Mike (Singer,
Guitar & Bass) have been making music together since they
were age 10. They were all formerly in a band called 'The Dirge',
which later became 'The Fazers'
The band played a song called 'Coming Up' @ the auditions in Southsea,
Portsmouth. The judges were impressed by their performance & were also
impressed that the band had provided promotional material & a CD, as
none of the other bands had done this. The judges said it was " Very
Professional".
The band has 3 tracks professionally recorded, and a set list of about
16 songs. The Fazers regularly play at the Thomas Trip, the Joiners & the
Endorse-it festival & are performing at Cobfest in April. All of their
music is original, they don't play any covers. They are very excited & confident
about the Regional semi final. It is their dream to get a record deal.
Biggest crowd - probably 150 - 200 people. The band has hundreds of influences
from The Smiths, Radiohead, The Beatles, The Cure, Dance, & Drum & Bass
influences. They do not try to recreate to sound of another band - They
have a unique sound of their own which is indefinable. What strikes me
is that although they are Indie Rock they have a unique dance element,
which really gets the crowd going. |
