Pylewell Park Gardens
Extensive, peaceful gardens with grass walkways, a large lake and masses of rhododendrons, azaleas and wild flowers.
 

Pylewell Park Gardens in South Baddesley are open to the Public on the 4th and the 11th of May from 2pm to 5pm. Admission £3.00, children free.

 

The estate was acquired by William Ingham Whitaker 1873 and inherited by John Roper-Curzon, Lord Teynham in 1988. map

Description of Pylewell House; Doric pillared porch with pediment, brick built, partly plastered with slate roof. The main block is 3 storeys and attic; wings are 2 storeys and attic. Cellars and basement are of stone and considerably older in construction. There was a Roman-Catholic chapel but it was destroyed in the 19th century.
