This event celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Aviation meeting at Southbourne Aerodrome in
1910. The celebrations will pay homage to the honorable Charles S. Rolls, a pioneer aviator, who
was killed at the aviation meeting one hundred years ago.
The memorial consists of a four day programme, commencing at 10am on the 9 July and runs
until 11.30pm on the 12 July.
The event will include an ecumenical church service, a wreath laying ceremony, daily public
visits to the memorial, an on site Charles S. Rolls Exhibition at St. Peter’s School in Southbourne
and a tribute centenary dinner.
