The 180-year-old pool in Bath Road, Lymington, remained closed last summer after a report revealed major health and safety defects. Now the Lymington Community Foundation has devised an ambitious plan to breathe new life into the site. If the scheme goes ahead, the baths will be transformed into a showpiece centre that will be open all year round. Part of the complex could be converted into a man-made beach with beach huts. Facilities for a variety of watersports, including sailing, canoeing and diving, are also among the options under discussion. Daily Echo 16th January 2010
