Following the popularity of the BBC Coast
series, this new attraction tells
the story of the Island’s coast and illustrates the dramatic
cliff falls and erosion that Blackgang has suffered over hundreds
of years, together with the impressive 87’ skeleton
of the whale which has been on display since 1844.

The Ship-Ashore
is a large tea-room with further seating outside
and stunning views down the south west coast of the Island.
Offering morning coffee, patisserie, light lunches and afternoon
teas.
Pirates Pantry is a 150 seat cafe and there are snack
outlets as well around the park.
Accessibility
The
chine has tarmac paths all the way round and though hilly in
places it can be accessed by most disabled persons. There
are 3 unisex disabled toilets at various parts of the park.
The disabled persons discount is on the basis that there are
a number of upstairs areas not accessible and the Coaster is
not suitable for persons with poor control of their motor muscles.
