Eastleigh Rail Works - Tour
  Description
Unfortunately the tours have stopped this year due to the rail side of the business being sold to Arlington Fleet Group who now run the Works.

Eastleigh Railway Works opened in 1910 and was the
last of the great railway workshops to be built in Britain and one of very few to remain in railway use today. At its peak it employed up to 2,500 workers and in its time it built over 310 steam trains and rebuilt a further 115. The Works was sold in 2002 and is now leased to Knights Rail Services Ltd.

Guided visits are now available around Eastleigh Rail Works (all proceeds go to the Mayor of Eastleigh's charities). Visits are available on specified dates and must be applied for by filling in an application form at least two weeks in advance (see
website for tour dates and application form). The tours are popular and as soon as dates become available they quickly get booked up.
