Mrs
Penny started her collection from clothes used by her family
for amateur theatricals. Lime Tree House was bought by a friend
of Mrs Penny's as a permanent home for what is now the Blandford
Fashion Museum. The collection covers historical Costumes
dating from the 1730s right up until the
1970's.
Lime Tree House was built after much of Blandford was destroyed by
a great fire in 1731 and is typical of a Georgian house built
in that period.
