Stanpit Marsh
  Description
Stanpit Marsh is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and supports diversity of plants and wildlife, there have been 313 bird species recorded, most of which arrive with the spring or autumn migration.
The Marsh covers and area of 130 acres, it is low lying land with dykes and ditches that are often crossed by raised sleeper bridges.
Popular with walkers, bird watchers, fishermen, and amateur naturalists.

The Stanpit Marsh Information Centre is open on most weekends. The centre is very new and relies for the most part on volunteer help and are currently working on recruiting a base of volunteer helpers so that the centre can open on a regular basis.

Turn off the A35 west of Christchurch onto the B3059 and follow signs to Stanpit village.
The X12 Bus passes close by (Lymington to Bournemouth)
