| In 1872, George Elliott,
aged 28, married Miss Elisabeth Mary Decent and following a brief
honeymoon, opened the Lymington Clothing Mart at 87 High Street,
Lymington on April 20th.
So began a family business that has continued to prosper for
over 135 years and five different generations.
Each generation has had their own struggle to maintain the tradition and continuity.
The priority has always been to embrace the latest methods and practices to
enable the business to be a regional leader in style and quality, while at
the same time being proud of its history and heritage and maintaining strong
links with tradition and the local community. |
